Under Duterte admin, AFP gets record-high share from BCDA

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has contributed P8 billion to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during the first two years of the present administration under President Rodrigo Duterte.

The amount represents 20 percent of the total P40 billion received by the men and women in uniform from BCDA since the state-run agency was created in 1992.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) launched their project called Luzon Bypass Infrastructure, with Facebook as the first party utilizing the infrastructure. The project will build an ultra high speed information highway that will greatly improve the speed, affordability and accessibility of broadband Internet throughout the country. It is expected to be online at the end of 2019.

Clark Airport Terminates Pilferers; OFW compensated P82,000

Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), has ordered the termination of six airport workers under private aviation services provider MIASCOR after their involvement in a luggage theft incident reported by Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Jovenil dela Cruz.

The move comes less than 48 hours after a video uploaded by dela Cruz went viral on Facebook.
