50% of Clark’s P4B contributions remitted during Duterte term

In just the first half of the Duterte administration, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has declared P2.016 billion, which represents 50 percent of the total remittances of the state-owned firm since it was created 25 years ago.

 

CDC, a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), remitted P500 million in 2016, P700 million in 2017, while the P816 million in 2018 will be remitted to the national treasury next week.

 

This brings the total amount to P4.07 billion covering the period of 1996 to 2018.

 

Govt jobs top vacancies in Labor Day job fair

Close to 18,000 job vacancies in the government topped the list of openings up for grabs in the nationwide simultaneous job and business opportunities fair tomorrow, Labor Day, the labor department reported yesterday.
 
The vacancies form part of the 204,000 available local and overseas jobs being offered by over 1,000 agencies in 31 sites across the country, including the main TNK-Build Build Build-Jobs Jobs Jobs caravan at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
 

DOTr's reopening of Clark airport set in record time

By fast-tracking repair works, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) achieved ahead of schedule its target to resume full operations at Clark International Airport (CRK).

"The inspection, clearing and repair (of the terminal's damaged portion) will normally take two weeks to accomplish.  But Clark airport was reopened in less than 48 hours," Jaime Melo, president of the Clark International Aiport Corp. (CIAC), said.

Melo was referring to the collapsed ceiling at the terminal's check-in lobby caused by an earthquake that struck Luzon last April 22.

Zero Casualty, Power Restored in Clark; 24-hour Assessment of Facilities Ongoing

The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) have reported zero casualties in Clark as technical teams conduct a continuing assessment of the situation since the 6.1-magnitude earthquake badly hit Pampanga and other parts of Central Luzon this afternoon.

 

CDC has reported that at least 90 percent of power supply has been restored following the strong earthquake. Also,  the CDC Health and Sanitation Division (HSD) reported that it has not received any report of casualties inside Clark.

 

Clark International Airport opens new facilities for passengers

New facilities inside the Clark International Airport can now be used for more convenient and safer travel in time for the passenger surge during the Holy Week.

 

The new facilities include the renovation of the Domestic Arrival Facade and Hallway; the provision of swing gates that will address the congestion within the pre-departure area; and the construction of a 48-sq.m. gangway which is a passageway that will directly link the domestic and international pre-departure areas, to accommodate more passengers on either or both areas.
