CNN Philippines: PH athletes get first crack at New Clark City Athletics Stadium

Capas, Tarlac (CNN Philippines, July 4) — Members of the Philippine track and field team were able to try out the New Clark City Athletics Stadium on Wednesday.

It marked the first time that athletes were allowed to set foot and train in the world-class sporting facility.

BCDA President Vince Dizon, in an exclusive interview with CNN Philippines, revealed that national team members can be housed in the Athletes’ Village as early as August.

The athletes can also utilize the Athletics Stadium and Aquatics Center for training

Citibank delegation visits New Clark City

Bases Conversion and Development Authority’s (BCDA) latest developments in New Clark City impressed the visiting delegation from Citibank headed by Citi Country Officer Aftab Ahmed, one of the first few people to try the newly-built track at the Athletic Stadium.

 

The delegates recently visited the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) in New Clark City, a project of BCDA and its private partner, infrastructure developer MTD Philippines.

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has launched a Swiss challenge for a proposed P12-billion luxury mountain resort in New Clark City.

 

In a notice published Thursday, June 27, BCDA invited interested private sector proponent/participants (PSPs) to participate in a competitive challenge for the long-term lease of a 450-hectare parcel of New Clark City for the said development.

Members of the Senate got a glimpse of the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) in New Clark City as the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) showcased the latest developments on the facilities with the sports complex now in near completion.

 

Led by BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon, visiting Senator Gregorio Honasan II and Senator Panfilo Lacson toured the 20,000-seater Athletics Stadium, the 2,000-seater Aquatics Center and the 1.4-kilometer Riverpark.
