Camp John Hay investments to soar to P10B under BCDA; Businesses begin outpour of investments in Baguio’s premier ecotourism destination

Following its successful recovery of Camp John Hay in Baguio City, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is now moving forward with plans to unleash the full potential of this economic zone, with investments seen to reach Php10 billion.


As its first order of business, the BCDA is conducting a review of the comprehensive master plan of the John Hay Special Economic Zone (JHSEZ) to set a redevelopment roadmap that will further elevate the camp’s position as a premier ecotourism destination and make sure that economic benefits are felt across all sectors. 

Baguio-born pizzeria, specialty cafe and restaurant to open in Camp John Hay

Baguio’s most successful homegrown pizza chain and a specialty cafe and restaurant are coming to Camp John Hay soon, after they signed a 15-year commercial lease agreement with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), signaling strong interest and vote of confidence not only from big investors but also from small- and medium-scale enterprises.

BCDA lauds inter-government efforts in seamless Camp John Hay recovery

The strong coordination among different government entities, from national government agencies to local government units, is key to the seamless and peaceful recovery of the Camp John Hay property in Baguio City, said the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

BCDA Chairperson Hilario B. Paredes said the whole-of-government approach ensured the swift and smooth conduct of recovery efforts in Camp John Hay on Monday, 06 January 2025. He expressed his gratitude to all persons and parties who helped during the operation.

CJH golf members withdraw case vs BCDA; seamless transition to pave the path for world-class golf

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) welcomes the decision of Camp John Hay Golf Club members to withdraw their complaint against the government-owned and -controlled corporation, and cooperate for a seamless transition that will result in improved facilities and services at the golf estate in Camp John Hay, Baguio City. 

A group of Camp John Hay Golf Club members has filed a motion to withdraw their case filed before the Baguio Regional Trial Court, signaling their willingness to build a partnership with the new management of the golf course. 

BCDA to Metro Clark: Uphold the rule of law

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) denounces the continuous illegal operations of the Metro Clark Waste Management Corp. (MCWMC) of the Kalangitan Sanitary Landfill in Capas, Tarlac, in violation of the 60-day Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) issued by the Court of Appeals. The TRO essentially allows the land owner, BCDA, to recover the state-owned property, there being no effective injunction that will hinder it to do so.

There is no valid Authority to Operate (ATO) and business permit issued over the Kalangitan Sanitary Landfill.
