$2.5 M ADB-funded lab equipment, test kits for COVID-19 arrive in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT-- To help capacitate a major regional hospital in Central Luzon in the detection and testing of COVID-19 virus, a $2.5 million laboratory equipment, and 45,000 test kits funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and developed by a genome sequencing company in China arrived in Clark International Airport early morning Wednesday.

The laboratory equipment and test kits materials developed by the Beijing Genome Institute (BGI) was picked-up from Shenzhen, China and flown to Clark by a Philippine Air Force C130 cargo plane.

We Heal As One Center - Ninoy Aquino Stadium sends home its first Covid survivor

The We Heal As One Center - Ninoy Aquino Stadium discharged its first Covid-19 survivor on Monday, April 20, after the patient tested negative for the disease twice. This was announced by Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso in his official Facebook Page.

 

The patient is a resident of Manila City and is the first one to be released from the quarantine facility. The We Heal As One Centers admit Covid-positive patients with mild or no symptoms.

 

Gov’t strategy to prevent Covid-19 spread: Locate, isolate, cure

The government’s strategy to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is to “locate, isolate and cure” suspected patients, BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon said Friday, as more facilities are being converted into We Heal As One Centers.

“Ang mga facilities ay kasama sa napakalaking sistema ng paglaban sa Covid-19. Isu-summarize itong sistema na ito sa tatlong salita—yung locate, isolate at cure. ‘Yung mga quarantine facilities ay kasama sa ikalawang parte ng sistema na pag-isolate,” Dizon said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

24/7 healthcare, free meals in Metro Manila quarantine centers

Three major facilities in Metro Manila will operate as COVID-19 quarantine centers starting this week, with patients having access to 24/7 healthcare and free meals, among others.

 

The Ninoy Aquino Stadium in the Rizal Memorial Complex, the Philippine International Convention Center, and the World Trade Center will all have air-conditioned cubicles with plug-in outlets, free food for patients and the medical staff, free internet connection, and round-the-clock medical assistance.

 

Ninoy Aquino stadium ready to operate as quarantine facility

The Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the Rizal Memorial Complex has been converted into an ‘instant hospital’ and will be ready to accept Covid-positive patients with mild symptoms and those who are asymptomatic on Wednesday, April 8. The 112-bed stadium which will be manned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Corps has air-conditioned cubicles, plug-in outlets, free internet connection and round-the-clock monitoring by the medical staff. Free food will also be provided to both patients and frontliners in all quarantine facilities being readied by the national government.

 

National government strengthens response to Covid-19 through construction of quarantine facilities

The Philippine government is scaling up the conversion of major facilities in Metro Manila and in other parts of the country into instant hospitals to effectively control the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and ensure the safety of the communities.

 

The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex-Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila City, the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls and the World Trade Center, both in Pasay City are being transformed into quarantine sites.
