A drug rehabilitation center at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija has been designated as a quarantine facility for COVID-positive patients, and is targeted to be operational next week, task force officials said. 

OSAKA 29 June 2020 – The Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Osaka, with the support of the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka, and in close cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Board of Investments (BOI), and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), assisted Yokoisada (Phils.) Corporation in expanding its face mask manufacturing business in the Philippines to help meet Philippine and international demand for face masks in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government’s “Oplan Kalinga” is being implemented precisely to “take care” of COVID-positive patients by providing them with medical treatment and assistance in designated quarantine facilities, and to reduce community transmission of the virus, National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vince Dizon said Thursday. 

With construction on track, the Clark International Airport new passenger terminal building will be operational in six months, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III announced during an inspection held on Wednesday, July 15.

Mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 cases who are unable to observe the home quarantine protocols set by the government will be transferred to isolation facilities under “Oplan Kalinga,” members of the task force announced on Tuesday. 

The country has surpassed its goal of conducting one million tests, National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon announced on Tuesday, July 14.

“Kung maaalala ninyo po, ito ang target na na-set natin noong nakaraang buwan. Ngayon po, wala pa tayo sa kalahati ng buwan ng Hulyo ay lagpas isang million na ang tests natin,” Dizon said.

The We Heal As One Center–Philippine Arena sent home on Sunday, 180 recovered patients from COVID-19, the biggest single-day tally of survivors released in a We Heal As One Center.

More individuals are being tested for COVID-19 as the government conducts aggressive testing to detect COVID-19 cases, including the asymptomatics. 

As part of the Test, Trace Treat strategy, four mega swabbing centers were put up last May. These include the Mall of Asia Arena, where thousands of residents are constantly tested daily. 

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) are planning to put up an Agro-Industrial Hub in New Clark City aimed to support farming communities, and strengthen food security in Luzon.

On July 1, Secretary William Dar  sent a contingent from the DA headed by Undersecretary Cheryl Marie Caballero to inspect an initial 30-hectare site in New Clark City allocated by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). Also present was BCDA Vice President for Business Development Arrey Perez.
