SCTEX posts record-high Php3.26B revenue in 2022

With the resurgence of local travel amid easing COVID-19 restrictions, toll revenues from the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) hit Php 3.26 billion in 2022, posting the highest collections since the road network was opened to the public in 2008. 

Toll collections surged 45.92 percent as compared to the Php 2.23 billion recorded in 2021, and likewise surpassed the pre-pandemic level of Php 2.6 billion in 2019 by 25.38 percent.

BCDA remits Php 527.40M in dividends to the national govt in 2023

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) remitted over Php 527 million worth of dividends to the national government this year as part of its yearly commitment to beef up the state coffers for nation-building initiatives. This was on top of the remittances of BCDA to the national government in the form of share of beneficiary agencies, like the AFP Modernization Program, from the disposition proceeds, and guarantee fees for the loan of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

BCDA’s solar farm seen to provide cheap, reliable energy in New Clark City

Residents and locators of New Clark City would be able to enjoy low-cost and reliable electricity supply once the proposed 37-hectare solar farm project currently being bidded out by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is completed.

Located at the northernmost portion of New Clark City, the subject property for the solar farm project enjoys a strategic location, being only roughly three kilometers away from the New Clark City substation operated by Shin Clark Power Corp.

BCDA takes home two Gold Stevie Awards

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has bagged two Gold Awards in the highly prestigious 2023 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for its innovative annual report publications in the past three years. 

 

Deviating from the usual format of annual reports through innovative storytelling and creative design, the “One Nation, One Legacy” BCDA annual report series from 2019 to 2021 was awarded the Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Annual Reports. 

 

BCDA statement on the NBI arrest of extortionists using BCDA President’s name for criminal activities

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) commends the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the arrest of four individuals who were involved in the extortion, forgery, estafa and falsification of public documents for bogus projects.

These unscrupulous individuals were using the name of BCDA President and CEO Aileen R. Zosa to advance their criminal activities. BCDA reiterates that it does not tolerate such nefarious activities, and if discovered will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.

BCDA, JICA embark on plan for the Philippines’ model Transit-Oriented Developments

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) signed a technical cooperation agreement that will help BCDA develop the areas in and around railway stations being built by the Department of Transportation (DOTr). These sites are located in Fort Bonifacio and will serve as models of the Philippines’ Transit-Oriented Developments (TODs), as well as prototypes of sustainable mixed-use communities with access to high-quality train systems.
 

BCDA launches bids for solar farm project in New Clark City

In another effort to pursue the green and sustainable development of New Clark City, state-owned firm Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is seeking private partners to establish a large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in this rising metropolis.

The BCDA is inviting all interested private companies to participate in the bid for the long-term lease of a 37-hectare property at the northernmost portion of New Clark City, and the development of a solar farm with a capacity of at least 25 megawatts and an investment of at least Php 1 billion. 

BCDA closes 2022 strong with Php7.53B in remittances to the gov’t

Despite the economic uncertainty and disruption caused by the pandemic, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) delivered a strong financial performance after its remittances to the national government reached Php 7.53 billion in 2022, an increase of Php2.94 billion or 64% from Php 4.59 billion in 2021. This was mainly driven by continuing cash inflows from existing joint ventures, leases, and other income-generating activities of BCDA.
