The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with the City Government of Taguig and Department of Education–Taguig and Pateros to develop new school and community facilities in Pamayanang Diego Silang, reinforcing investments in education and inclusive urban development.

On December 18, 2025, BCDA and the Taguig City government signed a memorandum of agreement granting usufruct over a 1,110-square-meter parcel of land for the development, construction, and operation of facilities that will support public education and community use.

The site, currently under the supervision of the Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, was originally earmarked for a sports complex. Under the new agreement, the land will be repurposed to house school and community facilities that will directly benefit students and nearby residents.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the partnership reflects BCDA’s broader role in supporting human capital alongside infrastructure development.

“BCDA has consistently supported quality education, including initiatives like the National Academy of Sports in New Clark City. This partnership allows us to extend that commitment to Taguig by helping create accessible and inclusive learning spaces for the community,” Bingcang said.

Taguig City Mayor Laarni Cayetano said the agreement strengthens the city’s education agenda while ensuring that public land is used to deliver tangible social benefits.

“This partnership advances our shared goal of making education a cornerstone of community development and ensuring that public spaces serve the people who need them most,” Cayetano said.

Also present at the signing were Department of Education Regional Superintendent Cynthia Ayles; SRCCMSTHS OIC-Principal Arturo A. Tolentino; and BCDA Chairperson Atty. Larry Paredes.

The project adds to BCDA’s portfolio of education-supportive developments, aligning land use with long-term social returns while strengthening partnerships with local governments.
