Bonifacio Global city

The 240-hectare Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is fast becoming one of the premier business districts, with a combined gross floor area of 1.8 million square meters to be built within the next five years.

Together with Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC)-of which it owns 45% share-BCDA continues to build world-class facilities envisioned to transform the area into a premier economic center in the country.

Among the significant showcases of public-private sector partnerships inside BGC are: Serendra, a residential/commercial complex which features a combination of mid-rise towers, wide open spaces and luscious greenery; and Market! Market!, a five-level mega-retail center. Similar development efforts are also being done in its environs to complement the development inside BGC.

Development Partner

Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation

The Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC) is the main developer of Bonifacio Global City, a 240-hectare world-class business district at the heart of Taguig City. Backing the FBDC in pursuing the ambitious project are the Bases Conversion and Development Authority and the formidable consortium of Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and Evergreen Holdings, Inc. of the Campos Group, who jointly completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in FBDC in 2003.

The Ayala-Campos group brings to FBDC a wealth of real estate experience and aims to replicate the success of the development in the Makati Central Business District. ALI has a track record for creating and sustaining successful business districts and large-scale integrated communities while the Campos Group, through its real estate arm, Greenfield Development Corporation, has various property developments in the EDSA-Central Area and Laguna.

Fort Bonifacio was turned over to BCDA in 1992 as mandated in RA7227. Three years after, the FBDC was created through what was dubbed the "Deal of the Century" when BCDA entered into a joint venture with the Metro Pacific Consortium for the privatization and development of 150 hectares of Fort Bonifacio land. Proceeds amounting to Php30.4-billion were realized when the property was sold at Php333,283.88 per square meter.

The FBDC was the largest corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 1992-with a paid-up capital of Php71.227 billion. The sale channeled Php25.8 billion cash to government coffers and ballooned property values in the vicinity overnight.

At present, the partners BCDA and the ALI-Campos group, through FBDC, identifies Bonifacio Global City as "the home of passionate minds." It thrives as an intelligent hub where "technology meets aesthetics." It features a working environment which values innovation and invention and boasts of a new masterplan that involves a major redesign of its 36-hectare City Center.
