The Bases Conversion and Development Forum participated in the 3rd Asean Tourism Investment Forum held last July 6-9, 2008 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Hosting the event is the Department of Tourism.

This theme of the 3rd ATIF is "Asean Tourism: Your Gateway to Investment Growth and Opportunities." The Forum aims to bring together the 10 ASEAN member states and other countries outside the region to discuss, network and open doors of investment opportunities between them.

BCDA joined the event as an exhibitor to showcase BCDA-administered economic zones-to attract major players in tourism development and to invite future partners in its disposition efforts.

Aside from the exhibit, the event highlighted a series of panel discussions on the following: "Cleaner and Greener Hotel Environment: The Key to Sustainable Tourism"; "International Brands: Their Outlook of the Asean Region"; "Domestic Brands: Coping with Competition"; and "Hotel Management and Franchising: Are We Getting the Best Deal?"

Among other participants of the 3-day event is the Poro Point Management Corporation, a BCDA subsidiary.
